Description
On December 14, 2008, Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi took off his shoe and threw it at then-US President George W. Bush while he was holding a press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad, Iraq.
A few years after the incident, we contacted an Iraqi private investigator who we had hired to find out who the security guards who had cut off Muntadhar al-Zaidi were. After a long search, he found them and it turned out that one of them had the right part of the famous shoe. Then, by involving the auction house Sotheby's, they determined in 2013 that this was indeed the famous shoe. The shoe was purchased under strict confidentiality and procedure.
I recommend the shoe primarily to collectors or investors. Or simply for those who are just fans of free expression.
Documents and other information proving the origin of the object.
1. - The item was authenticated by a former prominent expert at Sotheby's (very high level of authentication).
2. - The shoe was later authenticated by an independent seller and private collector who also assists Christie's auction house with decades of professional experience. He also issued a certificate of authenticity.
3. - The private investigator also made a report on the procedure.
4. - Contact information for the security guard who confiscated the shoe.
5. - Contact information for Muntadhar al-Zaidi.
Important: This is a right-hand shoe, not a pair!
I recommend it to investors and collectors.
Selling price of the shoe: 10 million euros
