Assistant General Counsel (AGC)– EU&APAC Region
We will lead the legal function for the EU&APAC region within SDx, defining the legal agenda and personally driving complex drafting, negotiations, and operational support. Contribute to strategic roadmap, P&L development, and associate engagement within the region. Lead the legal team supporting the EU&APAC regions in compliance with local laws, identify business risks, pursue opportunities, and manage critical incidents. Work closely with P&O, Sales, Operations, Marketing, and CA teams, serving as a member of the EU&APAC leadership team. Support European/APAC activities of Mars Science and Diagnostics, quickly gaining understanding of business and operations in Europe. Act as a critical member of regional leadership, counsel operation and commercial teams, and advise on commercial issues related to equipment, diagnostics labs, and expansion efforts.Negotiate and draft complex commercial agreements and advise on local regulations; manage a team of three associates. Engage with senior leaders and external stakeholders, including regulators, to advance and protect business interests, ensuring compliance with Mars Policies and standards. Engage and manage outside counsel as needed to meet business requirements.Provide legal advisory within the organization, risk management, dispute and litigation lead, and develop and monitor internal policy compliance. Qualifications
At least 12 years of experience as a practicing attorney focused on compliance, commercial, and corporate law. Prior in‑house experience, preferably in healthcare or a highly regulated industry. International experience a plus. Experience developing and providing legal support for territorial growth plans, assessing regulatory requirements, and creating execution plans.Extensive knowledge of European and APAC commercial laws and regulations. Excellent written communicator, able to present complex legal issues clearly and concisely. Fluency in one European language in addition to English is a plus. Capable of defining an agenda and ensuring timely, efficient execution, demonstrating judgment, practicality, resourcefulness, proactivity, and attention to detail.Experience managing complex projects and collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Proven track record working in international, cross‑functional teams to launch new operations, products, and business lines in established and emerging markets. Experience as a people manager.
