Program Engineer– Commercial
Program Engineer is responsible for the Customer assigned program. Manage the customer relationship between customer design and engineering team and the PKC production plant(s). Responsibilities
Lead the PKC plant through new project launches. Create and maintain timing plans and hold weekly meetings to review program status. Maintain daily communication with customer engineering team. Read customer harness drawings to help resolve issues as they arise. Support Launch Readiness APQP (Components and EDS) including meeting support and tasks/actions required to ensure safe Pre‑Production builds and launch.Manage the customer relationship with the objective of remaining a strong partnership. Provide advanced information to manufacturing plants (advanced BOMs/prints/material specs). Identify new components based on customer drawings, BOMs, material specs. Ensure all parts are set up in advance on time (MAPS) for new components, new programs and current production.Facilitate print clarifications/resolution between customer/design/manufacturing plants (including DFMs and alerts and deviations). Maintain updated program parts list. Manage engineering changes (new revisions) requested by customer/design/supplier for upcoming builds or running changes. Collect and share all information and files needed for quoting.Create and maintain timing plans to meet customer build phases. Deliver to OPM on time all information required for CAPEX and RAS. Create tooling summary for financial review, considering necessary adders for the development of tool/assembly. Support the manufacturing program management gate review process and attend gate reviews and "Go to Gemba" events scheduled for assigned programs.Deliver flawless launches and builds without escalation to PKC Customer Director for assigned projects and programs. Comply with the environmental, health, safety and energy requirements set forth in Federal, State and Municipal legislation and applicable regulations related to our activities and products to comply with the EMASS (Energy, Environment, Health and Safety) procedures inherent to their work position.Contribute to the effectiveness of the Energy, Environment, Health and Safety Management System. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field (Industrial or Electrical). 2-3 years of experience in wiring harnesses and/or components. Automotive electrical systems and/or injection molded components. Knowledge of manufacturing process and products. Skills / Knowledge requirements:Bilingual, Spanish and English (English 90% fluent write&verbal). Office packet domain: PLEX, SAP, IMS, Microsoft Office, Project software. Strong sense of customer orientation. Ability to work under pressure. Planning. Strong analytical thinking. Good judgement. Problem solving. Valid USA VISA and passport. Travel up to 15% of total work time.Competencies
