Your role Join Us– Technical Support Engineer – Software Specialist Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and solving technical challenges? As a Technical Support Engineer – Software Specialist, you will join the General Vacuum (GV) EMEA Customer Centre, part of Edwards, an Atlas Copco Group company, supporting customers and internal teams across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). You will be the first point of contact for complex technical enquiries related to Edwards vacuum pumps, software solutions and industrial control systems. Working closely with customers, Field Service Engineers, Sales and Service teams, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality technical expertise, ensuring customer satisfaction and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsabilities
Act as the primary point of contact for software‑related technical enquiries (phone and email)
Provide advanced technical support on Edwards vacuum products and software solutions
Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs, gateways, Profibus, Gen4/Gen5 controllers and control systems
Support customers and internal teams with troubleshooting, implementation and configurationManage complex technical cases and escalations, collaborating with Product Companies and engineering teams as needed
Contribute to technical documentation, training sessions and knowledge sharing
Support warranty and quality cases and participate in continuous improvement activities
Qualifications/knowledge/experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical support or similar engineering role
Degree or technical qualification in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Software or Engineering
Experience with vacuum technology and/or industrial control systems is an advantage
Key Skills&Aditionnal Requirements
Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, software tools and industrial automation
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
Fluent in English (additional European languages are a plus)
Willingness to travel across the region (30%); valid driving licence
