Our Company has been supplying and servicing nuclear power plant technology for more than six decades, including the most reliable and powerful turbine islands in operation. Our equipment is designed for a comprehensive range of reactor types and sizes, from very large reactors to SMRs. Our wide range of nuclear turbine island solutions include turbines, pumps, generators and heat exchangers, controls and more. As an expert in turbine island integration, we deliver everything from individual components to full turbine islands on a turnkey basis. Our solutions are suitable for all commercial reactor types, including SMRs, with a unit output ranging from 50 MWe to 1,900 MWe.
Position: Global Insurance Manager To lead, manage and coordinate the company’s insurance operations, managing policies, risk strategies, and ensuring compliance while also developing and implementing insurance strategies and overseeing the claims process. This global role will form part of our Contract Management Function.
Responsibilities
Create and implement strategies to effectively manage insurance risks, ensure compliance with regulations, and achieve organizational goals.
Manage the day-to‑day insurance operations, including policy management, risk assessment, and claims processing.
Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with insurance policies and operations, taking steps to mitigate potential losses.
Policy Management
Procure and maintain adequate insurance coverage for our global company, including corporate and project‑specific policies such as Liability, PDBI, EAR, MC, EL, etc.
Review, analyse, and modify insurance policies to ensure they meet the needs of the organization and comply with relevant requirements.
Collaborate with our shareholders where insurance coverage may be obtained under corporate programs.
Ensure local endorsements of policies and renewals thereof.
Negotiate with insurance companies and brokers to secure favourable terms and conditions for insurance coverage.
Be the company’s interface to insurance brokers and efficiently engage them to achieve foregoing objectives.
Optimize insurance premium overall costs.
Operations
Build a company internal network to obtain all insurance related data.
Build and benefit from a group‑wide network of insurance managers.
Develop and maintain global insurance procedures, templates and processes.
Establish an IT system providing insurance related information, insurance certificates and templates for the company and a filing system for insurance claims.
Analyse insurance related data to identify trends, improve operations, and make informed decisions.
Tendering and Execution
Collaborate with sales and legal on the commercial and contractual aspects of insurance clauses for projects in tendering.
Successfully negotiate with customers, suppliers and subcontractors the insurance setup and clauses required for any specific scope.
Define and procure any local and/or project specific coverages as applicable.
Oversee the claims process, including investigations, approvals, and denials.
Provide expert support to other functions in matters of insurance claim management including claim preparation, engagement of loss adjusters and successful obtaining recoveries.
Provide expert support to other functions in drafting project specific insurance procedures.
Reporting and Training
Establish a system to maintain records on insurance strategies, cases, claim recoveries and insurance premium cost control.
Regularly report to senior leadership on the foregoing.
Capture return of experience and best practices on insurance issues.
Regularly provide experience feedback and training to all relevant parts of the company on coverage, tools and insurance claim management.
Profile
High degree in Business Administration, Finance or Law.
10 years of experience on the insurance market either on corporate, broker or insurer side.
5 years of experience on insurances specific to major infrastructure projects.
Relevant insurance certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) can be a significant asset.
Expert understanding of Liability, PDBI, EAR, MC, EL corporate/project specific insurance policies, their terms, market offerings and coverage need.
Expert understanding of project and insurance risk management.
Expert understanding over the insurance claim management process.
Skills in conducting commercial negotiations also at higher management level.
Leadership and influencing skills across teams not directly reporting into the role.
Good knowledge of project contracts and contract law.
Good commercial and contractual knowledge pertaining to major infrastructure projects.
Good understanding of nuclear energy project management aspects including technical, planning and financial principles.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Insightful, able to collaborate with other business team members in developing strategies and implementing business plans.
Strong in building relationships with clients, suppliers and contractors.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Accomplished computer skills particularly in utilizing MS‑Windows and Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Must have fluency in written and spoken English. Additionally, French language skills are desired.
