Configuration Engineer - Civils - French Speaking, Rouen

Configuration Engineer We are seeking a Configuration Engineer responsible for the Earthworks Configuration scope on a major nuclear infrastructure project in Normandy, France. The Preparatory Works and Earthworks activities are part of a large-scale civil engineering package that includes supervision of earthworks for construction platforms and access roads across a 150-hectare development area, temporary and permanent drainage systems, marine discharge structures, excavation works, channel dredging, offshore extension works, slope stabilization, retaining structures, and preparation of excavation areas for future nuclear facilities. The Configuration Engineer will join the Technical Department and support construction teams across both nuclear and non-nuclear scopes.

Main Responsibilities

Coordinate engineering and construction interfaces in collaboration with technical coordination teams.

Manage document control activities and coordinate with engineering offices, technical stakeholders, and safety teams.

Prepare, monitor, and validate all documentation required for the start‑up, execution, and close‑out of construction activities, including:

Pre‑requisite clearance documentation, Quality Assurance Plans, and Safety Plans

Applicable Document Lists

Work Authorization Requests

Site Adaptation Sheets

Non‑Conformance Reports

Work Modification Requests and Modification Sheets

New Input Data documentation

As‑built documentation and record drawings

Final intervention and completion reports

Participate in technical Gate Reviews and monitor technical compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Confirm applicable construction configurations during updates to site layout and network coordination drawings.

Monitor and track quantities executed by construction contractors in coordination with construction teams, quantity surveyors, and earthworks specialists.

Collaborate with technical experts including construction methods specialists, quality representatives, geotechnical engineers, and site installation engineers.

Report project activities directly to the Technical Department Manager.

Candidate Profile

Master's degree in Engineering, Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience on an industrial construction project or nuclear site.

Strong coordination and communication skills with a proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.

Ability to synthesize technical information and manage complex project interfaces.

Team player with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.

Good command of Microsoft Office and standard engineering documentation tools.

Ability to work autonomously with strong attention to detail and adaptability.

Knowledge of nuclear quality systems and AIPR certification would be an advantage.
