Application Architect, Strasbourg

Overview We are seeking a Senior Application Architecture Specialist to join a high-profile programme delivering complex, enterprise-scale information systems. This role requires a strong blend of architecture, design, and hands‑on technical leadership, working closely with both development teams and business stakeholders.

As an Application Architect, you will be responsible for shaping and evolving the architecture of critical systems, ensuring scalability, integration, and long-term sustainability.

You will act as the technical bridge between project leadership and development teams, driving best practices across design, implementation, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture and design of enterprise information systems

Review and optimisation of existing system architectures

Design of component architectures and reusable building blocks

Integration analysis across multiple systems and platforms

Data analysis and data modelling

Coordination of technical architecture implementationAct as the technical interface between stakeholders and development teams

Produce high-quality architecture and design documentation

Participate in technical working groups and stakeholder meetings

Support testing, deployment, and evaluation activities

Required Experience

Minimum 6 years’ experience in IT

At least 2 years in application architecture and system design

At least 2 years in hands‑on development of information systems

Strong experience with UML or CASE tools

Strong experience with Service Bus Architecture and system integration

Solid background in relational databases and data modelling

Experience with web technologies and distributed systems

Exposure to Linux, UNIX or AIX enterprise environments

Strong understanding of Service Oriented Architecture

Good knowledge of object‑oriented programming languages

Experience with interoperability technologies (web services, messaging, middleware)

Familiarity with modelling tools and enterprise design practices

Additional Skills

Strong documentation and reporting skills

Ability to present complex technical concepts clearly

Experience working in multi‑lingual, international environments

Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work in fast‑paced, evolving technical landscapes

TOGAF certification (or equivalent enterprise architecture knowledge) is advantageous
