Lead, Sales and Product Development - Lumber Specialties This role is based out of Vernon, British Columbia.
We’re looking for a Lead, Sales and Product Development - Lumber Specialties to join our sales team at our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia. Our Vernon office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing&Logistics, Finance, Accounting&Credit, IT, Procurement, and Human Resources.
Qualifications
5+ years of demonstrated success in
wood product sales .
Post-secondary degree
in a related field.
Proven customer service and relationship-building skills.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated computer-based analytical skills.
Self-starter with a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness and creativity.
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to travel
frequently across Canada and the U.S.
Knowledge of sawmill operations is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
Represent Tolko’s lumber specialties portfolio, effectively positioning products to meet market demand and customer specifications.
Work closely with manufacturing, logistics, and internal sales teams to align production capabilities with customer requirements.
Maximize net return to our business units through effective product development, sales strategies, and monitoring of market conditions and competitor actions.
Work closely with Woodlands, Operations, and Marketing teams to bring new specialty products to market.
Work with members of the Sales Team and the Sales Coordinators to develop weekly and periodic sales lists for our external customers.
Manage finished inventory levels to target levels, considering inventory costs, market conditions, and product deterioration.
Provide regular information to internal customers regarding market trends and external customer feedback.
Negotiate fair settlements of customer claims on behalf of our business units.
Assist in the preparation of annual financial budgets, business plans, and strategic plans.
Work closely with 3rd‑party remanufacturing partners, understanding manufacturing process, cost, and quality requirements.
Professionally represent the Tolko Marketing and Sales team to the public.
