Description
MaiaSpace is a European space tech company, designing, manufacturing and operating competitive and sustainable solutions for space mobility. We are driven by the belief that access to space is a major enabler for a better and more sustainable life on Earth, addressing the challenges faced by humanity: climate, resources, connectivity, and data. Our aim is to successfully design and test a cost‑effective and reusable mini-launch vehicle by 2026.
Supply Chain Senior Engineer As part of the Industrialization team, you will define and implement the supply chain architecture of the Maia Factory, covering sourcing, logistics, inventory strategy, and ERP setup, in line with product design, industrial processes, and ramp‑up objectives.
The role requires strong autonomy and accountability for driving the following responsibilities:
Coordinate the supply ramp‑up from prototype to serial production, identifying supply risks early and driving actions to secure materials, capacity, and delivery
Analyse materials and capacity needs and secure internal activities to support ramp‑up
Monitor supply chain progress and adjust supply, stock, and logistics setups as product maturity evolves
Define production and supply flows with suppliers and partners
Define Supplier Logistics Requirements and ensure they are applied throughout the product life cycle, including packaging and palletization rules, labelling and traceability requirements, and delivery and documentation standards
Establish, for each product, the supply strategy, stock policy, and delivery methods
Ensure the strategy is aligned with consumption rate, production rhythm, supplier reliability and MaiaSpace evolutions
Design with the involved Teams the internal flows: receiving, put‑away, warehouse layout, picking/kitting, milk run, line‑side delivery, buffers
Set up ERP&MRP parameters to support the agreed flow and stock strategy (tracking mode, lead times, planning methods)
Establish and monitor supply performance using key KPIs (OTD, OQD, stock coverage)
Lead supplier action plans when performance is below commitment or to support improvement actions
Lead supply chain risk mitigation audits, aligned with product and supplier maturity
Contribute to mid‑ and long‑term production planning by identifying risks and proposing mitigation actions (dual sourcing, workload balancing)
Skills&Experience
Proven experience managing under construction supply chains, including volatile demand, incomplete data, evolving BOMs, and partially qualified suppliers
Strong capability to anticipate and mitigate ramp‑up risks: capacity gaps, long lead‑time items, mono‑sourcing, tooling readiness, and logistics constraints
Expert user of ERP systems with hands‑on experience in both design (parameters, process) and execution (daily operations)
Ability to build and animate ramp‑up‑specific KPIs, focusing on readiness, stability, and convergence (supplier OTD, line shortages, re‑planning rate, critical backlog)
Strong experience in supplier readiness and recovery management, including follow‑up of action plans, escalation, and convergence to ensure the performance targets
Capability to challenge design, industrial choices, and supply assumptions, and to defend trade‑offs using data, risk analysis, and industrial facts
Solid experience in supplier interface and performance management, including escalation, recovery plans, and fact‑based decision making
MRP strong knowledge including material planning parameters, lead‑time modeling, safety stock strategies, and execution monitoring
Proven ability to design, deploy, and animate KPI frameworks (service, cost, inventory, supplier performance), and to translate data into actionable improvement plans
Ability to challenge and optimise flows, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in complex, multi‑site environments
Strong communication skills, able to influence cross‑functional stakeholders (engineering, quality, production, procurement) and defend positions using data and risk‑based arguments
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
8–10+ years of experience in industrial fields, with previous experiences in supply chain, logistics engineering, or manufacturing operations, preferably aerospace or automotive
Autonomous, proactive attitude towards resolution of problems
Team player with the ability to collaborate with people from different teams, disciplines and cultures
Project management experience, including coordination of multiple stakeholders, planning, risk management, and delivery commitments
Experience in project management
Mastering of ERP
Knowledge or practice of Agile methodology is a plus
Fluent in both French and English
CPIM (APICS / ASCM) certification or equivalent strongly preferred
Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent strongly preferred
